Rakunyu Yoshimura II
The Yoshimura family produced yakishime ('high-fired and unglazed') grinding stones. In the early Showa period, however, Yoshimura Rakunyu I began making pottery. His son, Toshio, studied at the Kyoto Prefectural Ceramics Training Institute and later assisted his father, Jinshiro (first generation Rakunyu), in the production of raku teaware. He later inherited the title of Rakunyu II and began working in the Kyoto Raku Ware Association, of which he became president in 1985.
His eldest son has since inherited the title of Yoshimura III.
