Kensui
建水
けんすい
Used water vessel in the Japanese tea ceremony. For example, the water used to rinse the tea bowl before preparing the tea is placed in this vessel. In the tea ceremony, the kensui is usually placed so that it is not in the guests' field of vision.
The kensui is ready at the front right, while the tea master's guest(s) are positioned on the other side. (Tea ceremony on the occasion of the KEIKO anniversary in May 2017)
