Kabuse Powder
Kabuse powder comes from Kabusecha tea plants which, instead of being 90% shaded like Tencha, are only about 50% shaded - meaning they grow in partial shade.
These light conditions come closest to those of the wild tea bush and promote healthy plant growth. Kabuse powder is well balanced and cannot be compared with simple green tea powders made from unshaded sencha leaves. It contains slightly more tannins than tencha, but significantly less than unshaded tea.
Kabuse powder is rich in theanine, vitamins and minerals, has a bright green color and is highly aromatic. Kabusecha is milled using modern ceramic mills and immediately packaged in a protective atmosphere. This largely prevents possible oxidation and preserves the aroma and the entire active ingredient content as well as possible.
Kabusecha green tea powder is a modern product, produced for the first time from the Kabuse shade teas of the KEIKO organic tea garden in Kagoshima. Kabuse green tea powder is available in different quality grades according to the picking times. While the teas from the pre-picking or the first main picking have an intense but delicate aroma, tea from the second picking has a higher tannin content and therefore a stronger, more bitter aroma. Tea powder from the second plucking is particularly suitable as an energizing ingredient for further processing, e.g. for sweet drink recipes, for fine desserts and also for cosmetic skin care.
