Garden tea
Garden tea refers to teas where processing and cultivation take place within the same estate, and only tea leaves from a specific tea garden are used.
Processors often buy the tea on the tea exchange or from contract farmers as aracha. These arachas may then be blended with each other.
KEIKO teas are grown on the company's own Shimodozono organic farm and then processed and packaged on its own machines. For some teas, aracha is bought in from contract growers (e.g. Shincha Yakushima and Yakushima black tea - these teas come from the organic pioneer and long-standing contract farmer Fujiwara.
