Aracha
あらちゃ
It may not look like it, but anyone who has had the opportunity to put their nose in this cloud will agree that the scent of tea fresh from the steamer is the most intense and a truly incredible experience.
On the right, KEIKO Managing Director Markus Hastenpflug is sniffing and tasting the tea leaves fresh from the steamer. The best way to find this scent is in aracha, the so-called raw tea or unprocessed tea. But what exactly does that mean?
Green tea is steamed, rolled, rolled, and lightly dried directly after harvesting to stop fermentation. At the KEIKO organic farm, this processing therefore takes place right next to the fields to avoid long distances.
The picture below shows the tea leaves of the Yume Karoi variety in the different steps from the tea bush to the aracha.
