Ginger-Lemon-Bancha - Organic Japanese Green Tea

Ginger-Lemon-Bancha - Organic Japanese Green Tea

Dosierung 1 TL (gestr.-geh.)

Temperature 80°

Infusions 3

Brewing time 30-60 sek

This large-leafed Bancha is fresh-fruity and spicy-aromatic in taste. Also, thanks to the low caffeine content of the autumn harvest, it is ideal for the whole family. Bancha is produced from the pruning after the main harvest, using mainly the larger leaves. For the Aki-Bancha used here, the unshaded leaves from the autumn harvest are used. Like simple Bancha, the ginger-lemon Bancha is often drunk with meals. Due to the strong aroma of lemon verbena and ginger, it is especially suitable for more hearty dishes. In summer, the tea also tastes very refreshing when cold. To enjoy as iced tea pour the tea hot and let it cool down.

Storage

In order to preserve the precious flavours and ingredients of the tea as best as possible, we recommend to seal the bag well and store it cool and dark.

Green tea preparation instructions

Grüntee Zubereitung

Prepare

Prepare a cup for each person that has a capacity of 80 to 100 ml. Allow the boiled water to cool to 80° to 60°C, depending on the type. To do this, either put the water in a cooling bowl or pour it directly into the cups to cool, which will also preheat them.

Grüntee Zubereitung

Dose

Put a level teaspoon of tea per person into a clay pot. Pour one cup of water per person over the leaves. Allow the first infusion to brew for a maximum of 30 to 60 seconds.

Grüntee Zubereitung

Pour

If the tea is to be served to several people, first pour a little tea into each cup and then fill the cups in reverse order. This way, the tea will be the same strength in all cups. The pouring movements gradually give the tea the right green color. Pour out the last "golden" drops and prevent the tea from brewing any further.

Grüntee Zubereitung

Enjoy

Serve the tea fresh. In Japan, a small sweet treat is often served with unsweetened tea. For further infusions, pour water over the tea leaves again. Only allow to steep for about 15 seconds, as the leaf has already swollen and the ingredients are released more quickly. Distribute quickly all around.

Glass-teapot with stainless steel strainer, 450ml
Let your green tea shine with this borosilicate glass-teapot! Watching the water turning bright green is a special pleasure with glass teapots, however it can of course also be used for other types of tea. The large stainless steel strainer allows for the leaves to unfold and release their full aroma wonderfully. The teapot is made by Hario in Japan and is dishwasher-proof. Filling capacity The filling capacities of the teaware are always measured up to the edge - the actual quantity in daily use is slightly smaller. This teapot is for 1-6 persons.

Teapot "Kobashi", Banko Yaki, 480 ml
The shape of classic Western teapots was taken up and adapted to the special requirements of green teas in the production of this pot. The result is an elegant Banko-Yaki pot that combines Western and Eastern tea traditions. The tea leaves can unfold freely in the pot, which is quite generous at 480ml, and are retained in the pot by an integrated strainer before the spout during brewing. The leaves remain in the pot and are then simply briefly brewed again with water for further infusions. Special featuresAt Fujiso Manufactory, the holes in the clay strainer in front of the beak-like spout are poked by hand. This skill is still mastered by only a few masters in Japan - there are only 3 artists left who make such sieves in Japan. Clay screens of this type are particularly well suited for slightly larger leaf material. These include medium-strong or only lightly steamed teas such as Gyokuro, Shincha Yakushima, Hojicha, Oolong and other specialties. The tall shape of the pot is particularly well suited to teas with a higher infusion temperature (such as benifuuki, hojicha, oolong and kocha) and promotes the development of aroma and fragrance. The handle and spout are shaped so that the pot fits comfortably in the hand and the tea can be poured without dripping. The notches on the lid ensure a smooth flow when pouring by improving air exchange. On the outside, the reddish-brown clay typical of the Banko-Yaki style is unglazed, while a light, pale green glaze has been applied to the inside. This glaze was specially developed to facilitate cleaning and to allow the aroma of the prepared teas to develop without external influences and not to settle in the porous clay. Thus, the pot can be used for alternating teas with intense aroma without it lingering on the next tea. Filling capacity450ml, for 1-5 personsThe filling quantity of the pot should be chosen so that the tea can be completely distributed to the ready cup(s) and no water remains in the pot between infusions. The filling quantities are measured to the rim - the actual amount in daily use is slightly smaller. DeviationsPlease note that the shape, color and size of tea ceramics may vary slightly! This is especially true for teapots, which are all at least partially handmade.CleaningTo clean the teapot after everyday use, simply tap the teapot against your palm to loosen the tea and shake it out. Rinse well with clear water, also through the strainer. If the strainer has become clogged after longer use, you will find instructions here on how to care for and clean your teapot - for undiminished tea enjoyment: Cleaning instructions

Kyusu-teapot, red
Rotes Kyusu Kännchen stammt aus der Manufaktur von Houryuu. Japanese kyusu side handle teapots are ideal for brewing green tea. The tea leaves have plenty of room to unfold in the pot and are held back in the pot by the integrated sieve during infusion. There is a ceramic sieve in front of the spout of this pot, which is ideal for preparing large-leaf teas. A fine-meshed stainless steel hanging strainer is also included so that fine-particle teas (such as intensively steamed Fukamushi teas) can also be prepared. The filling quantity of the pot should be selected so that the tea can be completely distributed over the cup(s) provided and no water remains in the pot. The leaves remain in the pot and are then simply brewed again briefly with water for further infusions. Dimensions Practical filling quantity: 230ml Max filling quantity: 300ml For 1-2 people. DeviationsPlease note that the shape, colour and size of the tea ceramics may vary slightly! This applies in particular to teapots, which are all at least partially handmade. Cleaning For everyday cleaning, simply tap out the tea set and rinse thoroughly with clear water through the sieve. If the sieve has slowly become clogged after prolonged use, you will find instructions on how to care for and clean your teapot here - for unadulterated tea enjoyment: Cleaning instructions for teapots

Sencha - Organic Japanese Green Tea
For this Sencha, the small leaves that grow back after the first two harvests are used. For the third picking in July, the plants are no longer shaded, which results in a slightly higher tannin content, producing a pleasant, finely tart aroma. A refreshing, agreeable tea with a light green cup colour. We recommend two to three infusions for tea of the third picking. Storage In order to preserve the precious flavours and ingredients of the tea as best as possible, we recommend to seal the bag well and store it cool and dark - ideally in your refrigerator or freezer.

Bancha - Organic Japanese Green Tea
Kabuse Bancha is a green tea speciality made from the pruning of the tea plants after the main harvest, usually after the last harvest in summer or autumn. However, KEIKO Bancha is harvested in spring and processed as carefully as only Sencha or Kabusecha is usually processed. In spring, the leaves contain particularly high levels of theanine, which gives this unusual Bancha a particularly mild, harmonious aroma. It is light green in the cup and an ideal family and beginners green tea. In Japan Bancha is often served in restaurants. Kabusecha Kabusecha is a green tea for which the tea plants are shaded, thus forming a high content of chlorophyll and other active ingredients and at the same time little bitter substances. Their characteristic "shade aroma" is called "ooika". Storage In order to preserve the precious flavours and ingredients of the tea as best as possible, we recommend to seal the bag well and store it cool and dark - ideally in your refrigerator or freezer.

Genmaicha with Matcha - Organic Japanese Green Tea
Kabuse Genmaicha + Matcha is a traditional speciality made of green tea mixed with roasted rice (Genmai) and fresh green tea powder (Matcha). Kabusecha from the second picking is used for the KEIKO Genmaicha + Matcha creating a full flavour with a pleasant roasted note in the infusion. The Matcha Powder adds a magnificent, intense green colour as well as all its nutrients and aroma to the mix. The rich aroma makes Genmaicha a popular accompaniment to meals. When it is cold, the pleasant roasting aromas warm up, but even on warm days, a cold Genmaicha (prepared hot as usual and then set in the fridge to cool down) is a wonderful refreshment.   In order to preserve the precious flavours and ingredients of the tea as best as possible, we ask you to seal the bag well and store it cool and dark - ideally in your refrigerator or freezer.
